Nigerian Dwarf goats are true miniature dairy goats. They are fine boned and bred for length of body and overall dairy conformation just like the larger breeds. They are originally from West Africa and come in every conceivable color and pattern. Some have blue eyes. They are lovable, colorful, playful, gentle animals. Whether you want a goat for show, milk, or a pet, you can't go wrong with a Nigerian Dwarf!

One of the many advantages to the Nigerian compared to the larger breeds is their rich butterfat. They can produce as much as 2 - 3 quarts of sweet milk with the butterfat content as high as 6 - 10% making the best cheese, butter and ice cream. Even soap and lotions benefit from the extra richness. Their smaller size means they are perfect for the smaller farm, easier on the fencing and eat less. These friendly goats are great for 4-H projects and are easily handled by children or disabled people.

They are great browsers and will eat grasses, weeds, brush, poison oak, blackberry bush and yellow starthistle!
